Free Film Festival - "Iraq in Hollywood"

Just waiting for a friend and her troop of kiddies to arrive at matter of taste in downtown kitchener this morning.

It's 9 am and really busy in here, regardless of the new sidewalk they are pouring this week. I am really so psyched to see King st. when they are done with it - the plans are awesome and it looks like everything is coming together. Hopefully all the businesses that live down here can make it through the slow time to enjoy the improvements.

Anyways, having a coffee and watching the dudes in reflective jackets eat their breakfast around their trucks... And notice a brochure for 'Iraq in Hollywood' a. Film festival featuring 6 movies about the war in iraq.

June 16-21st
7pm daily
Kitchener City Hall Council Chamber.
And ... Free.

Cool idea - presented by the multicultural cinema club and the working centre. Most of the films are rated R - just a heads up.

I'm away the 18th-20th for work, but hopefully we'll catch "Iraq for sale" (2006) on the 21st- it’s a documentary about the companies that have been capitalizing on the war - and development projects in the region. Not to mention endangering the lives of the military and civilians in the process...

If you're free on Saturday June 20 - they are showing "In the Valley of Elah" (2007) - great movie with Tommy Lee Jones.

Check out more details here.
