Local Stuff - Herrle's Farm on Erb St.

Have you ever been out to Herrle's Farm on Erb st? You just hope on Erb going out towards St.Agatha and it’s on your left hand side. There is some controversy whether it's pronounced "Hurl-ees" or "Hurls" - for the record, it's pronounced "Hurl-ees, i asked them.

I’ve been going to this place since… well… since my mom used to drag us out there after school and they were selling sweet corn out of their garage.
Seriously, it was a huge road hazard – there would be people parked all along the road and the speed limit is 80km out there!

Anyway – in 1995, the Herrle’s family opened the location that is there now. A pretty big country market with Ontario produce, frozen meat, amazing baked and canned goods and more recently local coffee and ‘whole lotta gelata’. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they are powered by Bullfrog and you can just feel the heritage, you know?

There season goes from about beginning of June until Halloween and the produce is always amazing and well priced. The corn is still awesome, but I like getting peppers, cukes, tomatoes, snap peas and dinner rolls now too. You can get pumpkins and squash in October, and flats of Strawberries
Oh look! They have a harvest schedule on their site, how convenient!

Everything is local, and it’s not too far out of the city. If you have any interest in shopping local for produce, meats and the like – you’ll love this place or if you just like going somewhere interesting for a change of shopping scenery, i'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.

Sidenote: Herrle’s also has a pretty amazing Corn Maze, outdoor play area and wicked indoor mini train that goes around the ceiling... perfect place for little kidlets.
