I'm quite partial to the outdoors. KW has a lot of outdoors, even some of the most suburban areas, have small forests within them. You can walk, hike, run, snow-shoe in most of these places, and yet not very many people do. I guess they're too busy spending $69.99 + tax at the Running Room learning how to walk. Seriously they have a program called "Walking".
So I went to check out the "Economical" Trailway in Kitchener (part of the larger Walter Bean Trail). It's by the Grand River, but also by hwy 8, but also by the local animal shelter, so if you're looking for peace and quiet, don't go there. It's named the Economical Trailway mostly because it's free for public use, much cheaper than the Running Room, but you won't get expert instruction on how to walk. It's also mostly named that way because Economical Insurance Company probably gave them a lot of money.
We decided to get off the beaten path, and go into some mildly forested area. We saw a tent off in the distance. You're not allowed to go camping here, so we assumed it was a crazy homeless man with a shotgun. So, back to the beaten path we ran.
There are nice benches along the path. A good thing if your fitness level is a bit lower, or you need a place to sit and have a sip of water or a snack.
Once again we decided to go off the path, to a small unmaintained path. I literally walk face first in a massive spider web. At this point we realize that there are a crapload of spiderwebs and turn back to the main path.

Escaped our adventure with a few bug bites. Bring bug spray.
