Concisely, the proposal is when the city puts out a contract, one of the conditions for companies bidding is that they have to pay their workers a "living wage" of $13.23/hour or more.
ReplyDeleteWhile that sounds great, as Jane points out, the side-effects get a little complicated and the city might be able to find better ways to improve the standard of living for people in Waterloo Region.
