So Faye-bot and I went our separate ways this weekend – kind of sucked to not hang out, but we got way more accomplished by being in so many different places at once!
Highlights of Faye-bots’s weekend, taken from her Monday morning email:
1. partying sans pants (really, this was a theme party at a friends house… No Pants Party – they’re all the rage this summer!)
2. exploring small art galleries in W
3. trans europe express - by Kraftwerk (we checked out that Soundstage Audio place on Regina and Tricky bought that record - it was stuck in my head ALL WEEKEND - so random.
4. the opera uptown - such a great turn out - sssooo much sun (combine with a venti half-sweet green tea lemonade from Starbucks and some street meat for a perfect afternoon) It was different hearing opera sang in English but it made it more accessible for people I’m sure... plus since it was “Cinderella”, there were tons of people there - young and old... Tricky and I didn't stay for the whole thing because we were getting insanely hot sitting in the blazing sun on the pavement, but it was fun while we were there! They were setting it all up in the morning (when we went to the Duke for breakfast).... we watched a bit of the rehearsal and then the director told us it would be starting at 3pm... so we went back, and dealt with our hangovers outdoors.
5. driving from one end of KW to the other in search of tiger tail ice cream - successfully completing task at last - Tricky and I may be the only two people that love it We found it at Ice Cream 2 in Kitchener - in the middle of nowhere - but over 50 flavours of ice cream to choose from!
FB’s Things to Keep in Mind This Week:
- if you like guacamole, Sobey's has the BEST guacamole on sale (2 for $7) until July 30th
- UpTown 21 has a beer tasting dinner on June 23rd - it's $65 a person for 5 courses and beer pairings with each course (all Ontario and Quebec craft breweries) - pricey, but could be a lot of fun and interesting - guaranteed good food. (Sidenote from H: it looks like we’re going to go to this! Tricky and I share a birthday at the end of June – so celebrations are in order.)
Highlights from my weekend tomorrow… not quite as exciting as this – but it did involve Cosmic Bowling. So stay tuned. Hahaha.
