Got a press release from the City of Waterloo today - they are looking for some public art to put in the new library/YMCA out in suburbia... aka Fisher-Hallman & Laurelwood Drive.
"Proposed works of art should express two themes: the value of human interactivity and connection as an expression of community, and a celebration of the landscape and recognition of its natural history and agricultural past."
and,
"Qualified applicants will be Canadian artists with demonstrated experience in designing, building and installing large-scale works of art in public spaces. Teams of artists – or an artist in partnership with a landscape architect – are welcome to apply."
Deadline for you to submit a letter and images of their work is Dec. 21, 2009.
You can reach the city's contact, Betty Anne Keller, at 519-747-8505 or bettyanne.keller@waterloo.ca.
Happy Arting.
H.
