CultureCamp Recap

CultureCamp on Saturday was unreal!

If you weren't there, you suck and probably missed one of the best events in 2009. that's right, OF 2009. how much do you regret sleeping in NOW?

It was so refreshing to see such a diverse group of people of friends and strangers, who were (for the most part) there to work together, share ideas and have a few laughs.

You get get a good idea of all the topics that were covered by visiting the Ideas Tranform site and reading through all the posts, more notes and recapping are being added by the hour, so check back often.

The only thing that kind of sucked for me personally, as not being able to be in more than one place at the same time... a couple times there were convos going on in different groups and I was super interested in attending both. Sigh...

Great snacks by Artbar. Made the day THAT much better.

Here was a little mapping exercise that we did, to find out where people go, what places are important in our community... this was my mini map:

And here was the start of the group map:

Here was the finished group map. that's a lot of sticky notes.

This will be turned into a more advanced mapping project - details are on the site, but if you wanna get involved. DO IT.

I also sat in on a session called "end of empires" - good compelling name, didn't really represent the topic, but hey, that's alright. We were actually talking about sharing resources and tools within the arts community. Look at these Artists! they are into it!

This was by far the most heated convo of the day: Something about Culture as a Service (industry) ? I don't know, I wasn't there, but look at all the people that were:

Anyways, that's my post-game wrap up. Next event in Jan/Feb. Stay tuned.
