2010 Municipal Election

Maybe it's because I'm working my way through the entire West Wing series right now, but i get a little jolt of energy thinking about the municipal election coming up in the fall.

So, finding out that the City of Kitchener has launched a new section on it’s website dedicated to municipal voting information for 2010, was a little bit exciting for me today.

You can find it here.

Stuff you’ll find there…

  • - What positions are up for election and candidate information – if you want to be Mayor, here’s your opportunity.
  • - New Ward boundaries, we’ve gone from 6 to 10 wards.
  • - Key dates... The election is going to be held on October 25th, 2010.

I hope to be able to lend my support to a decent candidate for Mayor… anyone know anyone that’s running that isn’t an ass?

PS. A few weeks ago, a local friend and fellow community ranter remarked that local politics are more interesting than federal any day of the week. She's right. Harper can suck it, and sadly, all the people in the world joining a facebook group aren't going to stop him from getting his way. But a mayor that you can run into at a kegger? that's where you should focus your attention.
