MFX Partners is a design and innovation firm working on business and social problems. We design business communication solutions, services, business models, brands and digital and environmental experiences. MFX Partners executes all aspects of our design approach from concept through fulfillment.
MFX Partners is looking for a talented Social Design Intern who wants to be part of the exciting work of creating design solutions in the context of supporting the IdeasTransform platform and some projects related to this community. Since you are likely enrolled in school, a flexible schedule that supports your education will be worked out. The internship starts February 2010, for 3 months (part-time, although a full-time arrangement could be worked out.) A stipend will be paid upon completion of the internship.
You should be able to:
• Jump Fences: Understand and relate multiple disciplines and actively look for solutions across boundaries
• Be Motivated: Be excited about challenges, ambiguity and working toward your own limitations
• Make It Visible: Be a creative person who can quickly generate ideas, appreciates and understands aesthetics, and can produce quick prototypes that communicate simple and powerful design solutions
• Think: Work hard and be passionate. Be excited about ideas and unknown territory; have an insatiable thirst for research and be curious
• Collaborate: Adapt your style and be excited about collaboration with a potentially wide-range of people
You are:
• Enrolled at an educational institution, preferably studying a degree/diploma in design, innovation, sociology, engineering … we’re pretty open actually
• Fluent in English
• Comfortable with online communities, real life communities and familiar with social media
• Able to take direction, but not dependent on tasks being set for you
• A happy surprise if you are able to use common layout tools like InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Living in Waterloo Region
