Culture Club 2 - Recap

I'm not going to lie... I've had a little bit of a weird day today.

Ah well - should improve over the next couple hours, since I'm proposing a trial of my CINQ a SEPT idea today at 4:45. Bauer Kitchen... few interesting people, few drinks... start the weekend off properly!

Last night was the 2nd Culture Club event, and it was awesome.
Seriously, amazing turnout (about 40 people), lively convos and a lot of people i didn't know -which is always good.

We started off at Coffee Culture in Uptown, and we totally didn't give the place a heads up - so we just kind of flash-mobbed them. It was hilarious. The whole front of the cafe was Culture Club people and then this old guy in one of the leather chairs watching the hockey game and drinking a latte. Poor guy trying to have a quiet night out.

Then the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival at the Princess which was great. The best part was listening to other people laughing in the theatre. Seriously. FUNNIEST. THING. EVER.

It started off with a couple knee slappers - but people were full-on losing their minds a couple minutes in.

The whole thing they say about laughter being contagious is fully true, so i had a smile on for the rest of the showing. A nice way to spend the night.

I had to run over to THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD (aka Doon) after the movie to pick up P, but then we met Cute and Cuter Gecko, Kevin. James and Julie for a drink at Huether till way too late.

Overall, an excellent night, but maybe we need to coordinate the Apres event a little bit better next time. there was some massive confusion over where we were all going to meet up.
ah well...

Here's a great list from the Gecko kids on who was at the event, plus their rundown on their favourite spots. If you want to connect with each other, or start stalking anyone - this is a great resource.

I'll keep you posted on the next Club event... in the meantime, if you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to leave'em in the comments and i will pass'em along.

H.
