There was quite a bit of back and forth in the comment section - and one post that caught my interest was by Eric Tucs, from the Civics Research Co-operative. He posted that they were working on a feasibility study of a "Centre for Community Innovation and Design".
This would (in theory) be a shared multi-tenant space for social enterprises - cross sectoral, serving many different businesses/artists/orgs and encouraging economic development and fostering innovation.
Their study is now complete and available for public viewing HERE.
It's 66 pretty intense pages, but if you're interested in this sort of thing... i recommend you take it for a spin.
