Acac... bad acronym, good stuff.

last night i checked out the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee meeting at Kitchener City Hall. Pretty cool group of arts people from the area... little bit sad to see no one under 32 sitting on the actual board, but hey. that's us young people these days right?

Couple interesting things that I got the scoop on...

1. Magnetic North Theatre Festival - coming in June. Very interesting - i will keep you posted.

2. The Artery Gallery in downtown is getting some new students to run it... very cool chick named Erin and another student from 4th year Fine Arts. They plan to have their first show up October 4th ish i think... it'll be nice to have something going on in there again.

3. There's some new public art at the Police Station on maplegrove in cambridge, apparently it's called "child found" ... little bit creepy, but interesting: the cop is holding a flashlight... which is solar-powered and lights up at night. neat.
(did i just lose some street cred for using the word neat?)

Here it is:

4. There's a public art piece being commisioned by the city from this dude from Elora. Apparently some sort Geological panels. Going in the country hills library, so i'll probably never see it. but hey... if you live out there, keep your eyes peeled.

As some of you might know already... i have a "thing" for public art... i'm obsessed with it.

5. Oh, King street recon is delayed. surpised?

These meetings happen once a month, i'm all over it.
H.
