Sup Knitters.

Sue Sturdy is the Artist-in-Residence in Cambridge for 2010. She's most interested in Galt, Hespeler & Preston for their deep history in the textile industry, including the manufacturing of knitwear.

Part of Sturdy's programming includes "KNIT CamBRIDGE"
Here's the description from the Cambridge Arts site:

Knitters from the community and beyond are invited to contribute their knitting to the creation of a collaborative, large scale piece of outdoor public art - the covering the Main Street Bridge in knitting! After the knitting is taken down it will be cleaned, sewn and
serged into blankets and scarves for donation to charity. Some items will also be auctioned off with proceeds going to worthwhile causes. Be a part of this wonderful project and start knitting!

Not sure what the deadline to submit is, but I've got an email over to them, keep you posted.

UPDATE: Get your knits in by June people!
